Kamiya Tribe

Pre-Show Interview

Well, the start of Survivor: Okinawa is just hours away and I'm so excited! I know it sounds corny, but being here on this reality show has been a lifelong dream of mine. Okay, not life-long, but the last few years at least. I just hope I can prove to myself what I can really do. It seems so easy watching from home, but now I'm getting a tad nervous. I just hope I can morph into a "people person" while I'm out there. Before I got here, I knew I'd be the ultimate winner, now I'm just hoping to get past the first vote. That is goal number one.

Why am I worried? Well, I'm expecting to be one of the oldest tribe members in Okinawa. I'm not exactly a Rudy, I'm only 40, but last season the cast members were practically all in their diapers. Come on producers--two 16 year-olds? The oldest guy was 30? I know the show executives want hotties and beefcake, but how about throwing a bone to the over 40 crowd. Anyway, they wised up and I'm here. I just hope the younger tribe members are the type to respect their elders and not just kick them to the curb. I'll have to pretend I like that hip-hop rap crap, and try to be hip.

My strategy? Well, I'll have to play it by ear. Maybe I'll wait for alliances to come to me, maybe I'll find myself bonding with another older person, or younger outcast. I also plan to play this whole game with honor, respect, integrity and NEVER tell a single lie. (snicker) Damn, I broke that no lies rule already. But seriously, I plan to do whatever it takes to win this, and I will try to be honest for as long as I can. I do have on trick up my sleeve though. I've been working on what I call the "Gnome" strategy to get me the million bucks. What's the "Gnome" strategy? You'll just have to wait and see.
