Biography

Elisabeth Marie, a fifteen-year-old Humane Society Volunteer, was born in and has lived in Grand Rapids for all of her life. With Disney World being the only place she has visited outside of her state of Michigan, Elisabeth says that her version of something foreign is an overgrown mouse with clothes. But if she wins survivor, Elisabeth would like to use the money and put it towards her education and the Humane Society at which she volunteers.

Being only a sophomore in High School, Elisabeth is one of the youngest players to ever play Survivor. However, with her 4.0 grade point average and two years of varsity sports in soccer and tennis, she believes that she if fairly confident at beating out her older opponents.

One of her favorite hobbies, she states, is beating out the boys. She says that the thing that most infuriates her is being underestimated because she is young, petite, and a girl. However, in her spare time off of kicking some butt in the game, she enjoys kicking some other butt on the soccer field and tennis courts. Other hobbies of hers include snowboarding, swimming, running, softball, backpacking, drawing, and writing creatively.

With her backpacking experience, Elisabeth believes that she has what it takes to outlast fifteen other castaways in the hunt for the ultimate prize… sole survivor. She is also heavily involved with her family, including her two younger brothers and loving parents. Her hero is her grandma, however, that she says is a survivor in her own right after her husband of 48 years and high school sweetheart died in July of 2000.

Her birth date is March 6, 1988.

Application Essay

Why should I be in Survivor: Okinawa?

Well, you need females. I'm a female, so we have match number one.

Two, you need someone who's going to add something to the story. Someone that gives the game of survivor the human aspect, otherwise everybody is just ruthlessly playing the game and you end up with a season looking like Thailand. You need to have that person that America (or the survivor-central viewing audience) is going to root for. I have that quality; I have that spunk that people remember. I think I would add that flavor to the story, give the audience that person to root for (or root against depending on their taste)...but not be the one that people say "oh, give or take" about. So, we have match number two.

Third, you need to have someone that can play the game. Not just another sweetheart that wakes up on day twenty-one and decides to play the game (sorry, I love Neleh all the way! But gurl, not a good final tribal council presentation at all!) The story needs to have that one "sweetheart", I fill that mold to a T. But also, I break the mold because I bring my competitiveness with me too. I bring my intelligence. I bring my spunk. Just think about me as your Lindsay (from Tonga) with a little more of "sweetheart" thrown in. Plain and simple, I make things interesting. I am one of those characters you don't soon forget. Besides, this would be your "second" season per se behind Tonga. That's an even season, so you need a female survivor. Here she is (raises hand) Winner number two, bout time the good guy (or shall I say girl) won this game!

Honestly, I add something to the game. That’s what people want to see, that’s what I want to see. I want to go out there and prove I can do something. Immediately, knowing my age, people underestimate me. I honestly believe I stand a shot at going out there and giving the big guns a run for their money. I think I have what it takes to make it to the end, I THINK I stand out above the crowd. Basically, if you like my you like me. If you don’t, I at least want to add something to the story. Be someone that if you take out of the equation, it loses that “something”. I can be that Colleen, sweetheart with an edge. Player with a heart. Teen with some spirit.

I’m dedicated; if I get in I’m going to give it my all. Besides, I can write a pretty decent confessional from time to time! What else could you want? One Elisabeth came in fourth, I think it’s the time the predecessor walked in and took first. Also, and I don’t mean to be kissing butt, but I love your stories. You inspired me to write my own (yeah, I’m the one who wrote the All Star Greece story with almost the same first immunity challenge as yours before your story came out). It would be an honor to play in your game, because I trust that you’re not going to be like the other ones that start off strong and then fall off the face of the earth. Please, just give me a chance. I PROMISE you won’t regret it!

Finalist Essay

I've pretty much laid it all out on the line in my application, but the short of it is that either you're gonna like me or you're gonna hate me. There's no middle ground with me, you always know where I stand. So, that also gives the story an advantage to be more appealing to the audience becuase I'm going to stand out. I'm either the person every loves to root for, or the person everybody loves to hate. Basically, I have a strong personality and it definetely comes across. I add the human aspect to the game, and I think that will help make the story more interesting. What can I say? I am the sweetheart factor, but I know how to play the game. I guess that's just pretty much it. Good luck in your casting! P.S. I can't wait to go out there and break that stereotype that all teenagers are illiterate and lazy by just sitting on the computer all day, I think it's time I go and showed some people what a fifteen year old can do. As they say, you're never to old to learn...and never too young to teach.
