The Tale of Na Onka and Fabio
Chapter 20
Good Will Always Triumph Because Evil is Dumb
It's the final day of Survivor: Nicaragua, and at this point there is only one hero left in the game.
Our new buddy, Judson
Even
though Nay is no longer with us, there's a chance that
her mission of peace and love still might triumph in the end.
At this point it all rests on the shoulders of her newly born padawan, Fabio.
Isn't this guy incredible?
And
this is the part of the season that most people tend not to remember.
This is where the rivalry between Na Onka and Fabio finally reaches its
conclusion.
Spoiler: It's not the conclusion that anyone would have predicted just a couple of weeks ago.
It's
the final Tribal Council, and the amazing Fabio is pleading his case
why he deserves to win the game. And why childhood poverty is bad.
And here comes Na Angel up to give her big jury speech.
It's her last chance to pass the torch and hand the win to her friend.
Here she comes, like Jesus on Easter. Back from the dead.
Fabio greets his new BFF warmly
Hi Judson. So we meet again.
Fabio waves
"Fabiooooooo!"
And
here comes maybe the most amazing redemption in the first twenty-one
seasons of Survivor. Where Fabio not only earns Na Onka's vote,
but it's the vote that winds up winning him the game. And
all because he listened to her wisdom that day on the volcano and he
became one of the good guys.
It's been a pleasure cussing you out. But I did it for a reason. I did it because I saw good in you.
You did
Na
Onka goes on to explain how good will always win in the end. And
how even someone like Fabio, who used to whore around and drink and
drug and be a damn fool, had good in him when push came to shove.
It was always inside him, deep down. He just needed Na Onka to
tell it to him and to bring it out of him.
In a way, you represent America, Judson. You represent the underdog. Same as we all do.
You represent hope
Fabio
hears this and he starts crying. For the first time in this game,
he has stared into the face of real true genuine goodness. And he
knows what it looks like now.
He starts tearing up
I'll make you proud of me, Na Onka. I'll win this game for you and my mom. But mostly for you.
And with that, Old Fabio is gone. The darkness is gone.
From here on out, he will only be known as... NuFabio.
NuFabio
And just like that, the torch has been passed. You can almost feel it.
It has been handed from good on to good.
Thank you Fabio. I appreciate your realness.
And with that...
All because of her vote...
The one with the reference to Leviticus 4:20 on it
Judson "Fabio" Birza wins Survivor: Nicaragua.
Greatness always recognizes greatness
And Nay's passing of the torch to her friend was the vote that won it.
Which means... when you look at the storyline... and you get right down to it...
The real winner of Nicaragua was Na Onka.
Also, stay in school, kids.
Never gives up. Never quits. Here beats the heart of a champion.
